We are currently working on the design of
product landing pages and will be testing these shortly.
I will post copies when they become available. In
addition we have started on our affiliation software
program in order to allow others to start selling our
advertising space and other products.

At last google is slowly getting around to
indexing the pages we now rate with alexa traffic at
900,000 most popular, 21 other sites linking in to
us. We have been busy on the site,
we have introduced a members forum and opened the ad
servers to accommodate exchange publishers. which
should vastly increase the number of publisher
outlets we can offer. Other projects now underway
are instructional Videos to be used on the website
itself and also distributed via youtube etc.

Send out 500 classified ads over the last
few days, updating blog signatures to include the
site, our Alexa traffic rating have dropped to 1,9
millionth most popular. but the weekly look even
better being 1.2 millionth. Google has not indexed
the pages yet so no first position yet.

Ok, We have now made our Search engine
optimization on the website and have just submitted
the sitemap to google. Now we have to turn our
attention to the external factors that we can
influence. We have other websites which we can
include links to our new site, remember to link it
with the keyword
, The search
engines will take us more seriously if we have good
quality links to the site. so look at alexa.com at
their top 500 sites and see if any will take our
link, social websites are easy target. These links
will not generate traffic, but if that is what the
search engines look for, hey lets not argue. We can
also enlist the help of classified sites to help our
inlinks and as we offer a classified ad distribution
service this should be relatively easy too.

So how do we know how well we are doing in
our search engine optimization. there are many
places on the internet that will give you free scans
and give reports. I use a program from
www.axandra.com
called IBP, you can buy the full version, but the
demo version will give you an idea of how well you
are doing. At this point in time we have a rating
86% which is ok, but never satisfied we need to get
it in the 90's. The next job on the list is make a
site map and link to it on the index page. I suggest
two versions a standard HTML version and an XML
version which we will used to register it with
google sitemaps.( google" Sitemaps") this will tell
you the format of the XML file required and how to
registered it with them.
Make sure you complete your website
optimization before you submit it to google.

The people who have been following this
blog from the outset may have noticed small changes
in the page you are now reading, as page
optimization is started on the website. Where before
you had SEO in the first introduction, you now have
"search engine optimization" one of our keyword
phrases. The title, page description and keywords
section of the html reflect our keyword selection.
Also the actual address of the page has also changed
and now is a subdirectory in our new main directory
"advertising agency"
If you do a search in google with a
particular keyword, the results obtained will
highlight the keyword, therefore even the address
will bring you extra bonus points. If we were to
make a completely new website, we would include the
selected keyword within the url address as well. We
will not go this far as the age of the url is also
taken into consideration by the search engine, the
older the better. All the img alt tags now have
keyword related scripts which will increase our
keyword density. A word of warning excessive use of
the keywords will down mark you in the eyes of the
search engines.

From the table we have constructed, I have
marked the ones of interest to us, because these are
the ones that have a reasonable keyword popularity,
not too many listed in the general search, and the
ratio between the allinanchor and allintitle is high
and the numbers are not too big. Now pick the one
that you can easily integrate into your webpage text,
the other three can still be included in your
text but we need to concentrate on just one, to
ensure that first page position. I included the
single keywords marketing and advertising to show
how hopeless the task would be if you tried to optimise
for these keywords. I have chosen " Advertising
Agency"

So having listed all
the keyword phrases that people use to look for your
website type, We need to know how hard it is going
to be to get that front page listing, because lets
face it, if you are not on the front page forget
about high volumes of traffic. There are three tools
that give you most of the answers. The first is the
"google keyword tool" just type it into google and
you will find it. This will give an indication
of the popularity of your phrases. Type them in and
note their rating. Now we need to know how many
websites target these phases, because we are looking
for softer but popular target phrases. So there are
two more helpful utilities google give us, they are
allintitle and allinanchor searches. by typing in
the google search bar allintitle;"keyword phrase"
you will see how many websites are returned,
simularly for the allinanchor utility. Now the
number of websites returned for each of the searches
wil give you an indication of the softness of
the keyword. you will get a high number from the
allintitle search, but we are looking for a low
number in the allinanchor search. The websites with
both sections are going to be our many competition
for that first page position

So where do we start?
We are looking for traffic, so we could buy it
through google ads or traffic exchanges, but is
cheating and a complete waste of time. Google ads
have their place, but not at this stage in the game.
Where is the internet traffic? it is highly
concentrated around the top websites. Google search,
Youtube, Yahoo and social networking sites. So lets
look at the google search engine first.
Before we rushing off trying to register the site on
google,There is mountain of work to be done on the
site itsself. The main word here is KEYWORDS. we
need to see what words are being used to look for
websites like this. Find your competitors and see
what keywords they are using on their pages, they
are often found in the html in the header section at
the beginning of the page. Next single keywords are
so highly used the chances of us being listed on the
first page is very remote. So we are looking for
phrases that people use to search.
